Let’s get to work….
Like a lot of men, it could be that no matter how much sleep you’re getting you’re still waking up with bags under your eyes and dark circles. In which case these tips are really going to improve the situation.
Either way, these natural remedies will minimize under-eye puffiness, hydrate and firm up your eye area, making you look younger and more wide awake!
How to get rid of bags under your eyes
Let’s start by super-charging your circulation and reducing the inflammation that causes the swelling under your eyes when you’re missing out on your sleep.
Start by applying a hydrating cream to the eye area. Now this doesn’t need to be a cream that is specifically for eyes. The best eye cream for men is a cream that is hydrating and light.
The skin around your eyes is thinner and more delicate than the rest of your face which is why it’s the first to show signs of aging, bad diet, dehydration … and late nights!
You need to treat the skin here very carefully … no pulling, dragging or rubbing.
Our HYDRATING DAILY MOISTURIZER is light and absorbs easily so it’s the perfect treatment for your eye area. It contains hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and anti-inflammatory Aloe Vera - as well as lots of other excellent anti aging ingredients, like peptides and Vitamin E – and it will instantly revive tired, puffy eyes. You can read more about it here.
HYDRATING DAILY MOISTURIZER
Step 1 – Apply cream to the eye area
Gently tap the cream on to your under-eye area. Follow this with gentle outward sweeps, from the inside to the outside, for about a minute. This will revive circulation and increase blood flow.
Step 2 – Massage your pressure points
You can reduce the build-up of fluid in this area by gently massaging the pressure points around your eyes.
Gently tap along your brow bone and under your eye with your ring finger to reduce the accumulation of fluid.
This is a great remedy for eyes that are feeling tired and puffy at any time of the day. It’s particularly important if you’re staring at a screen all day.
Using your thumbs, and with a moderate amount of pressure, press down for five seconds on the corners of your eyebrows closest to your nose. Make sure to keep your thumbs placed gently over the brow bone area only. Don’t press too hard, and make sure not to jab your thumbs into the orbital area.
This will relieve tension around your eyes and rejuvenate your eye area by further increasing circulation.
Step 3 – Use cooling, hydrating eye patches
If you often suffer from under-eye puffiness even after a good night’s sleep (or you like to party hard a lot!) then it’s worth investing in some eye gels or patches.
Apply ones that contain Hyaluronic Acid. This is a natural substance which you can also find in our HYDRATING DAILY MOISTURIZER. It’s super hydrating and leaves your skin looking smooth and supple, at the same time as reducing fine lines and will give your skin increased freshness and restore elasticity. It literally grabs moisture from the air and will leave you looking fresh and bright-eyed.
Let the patches do their good work while you have your breakfast, then peel them off after ten minutes and you’ll look completely refreshed.
Tighten and smooth your face
Puffy skin, increased redness and a dry, dull complexion….it’s not just your eyes that show the signs of a late night!
So just as with the eye area you need to:
- Get the circulation going and
- Reduce inflammation
Use ‘cold’ cream
Cooling your skin will help reduce puffiness in your face by constricting blood vessels, and increasing the circulation. So try chilling your face moisturizer before applying.
Keep a moisturizer in the refrigerator just for this purpose.
Go for the ‘ice treatment’
If you’re feeling brave… and you want to really get your circulation moving and get an instant glow to your whole face immediately. Then wrap an ice-cube inside of a clean washcloth and rub gently all over your face until the ice melts.
Tight, smooth skin instantly!
Massage your face to make it glow
We’re a big fan of facial massage! There’s nothing quite like it to boost circulation, reduce facial tension and bring more healthy oxygen to the skin’s surface… and you get instant results. Plus it feels really good!
Try to find the time to do it every day and your skin is going to look more toned and, well, glow-y. And the increase in circulation is going to reduce under eye bags, along with any puffiness and dark circles.
A DIY facial massage
Firstly, apply moisturizer to your skin so that your fingers glide easily. And remember to vary the pressure by tapping your skin too.
Using your knuckles, stroke your chin horizontally, applying light pressure. Then move on and do the same with your forehead.
This helps to relax and energize your forehead and chin muscles.
Press your knuckles gently into the area just underneath your cheekbones, and massage using a circular motion.
This pressure point massage will help to boost circulation and work the muscles in the cheek area which can be prone to sagging.
Using your four fingers and starting from your chin, use both hands to massage along your jawline upward and outward toward your temples. Only go one way, upward and outward. When you reach your temples press gently and massage using small circular motions at this pressure point.
Do this repeatedly for 30 seconds.
This helps to boost circulation in the cheek area. It also focuses on the acupressure points of your outer eye area boosting circulation and rejuvenating this area too.

What causes bags under the eyes?
The delicate eye area is typically the first to show signs of aging in men.
As you age, the structure of the fragile tissue here starts to break down and the skin begins to sag. At the same time the muscle supporting your eyelid starts to weaken.
Fat can move into this area below your eyes, along with an accumulation of fluid, making the under-eye area appear swollen
And then too much stress, a lack of sleep, or staring at a computer screen all day, can all make the puffiness worse.
What helps reduce under eye bags?
The best way to alleviate any puffiness is a combination of lymphatic drainage and a cool compress. Gently tap along your brow bone and under your eye with your ring finger to reduce the accumulation of fluid. At the same cooling your skin will constrict blood vessels and increase circulation.
And try to get a good night’s sleep. That’s going to help a lot too!
